Couplet reads Netflix subtitle tracks, subtitle text, title IDs, playback position and state, and available video quality information to provide subtitles and playback controls.
When you open a subtitle file, Couplet reads its filename and contents on your device.
Couplet stores the following in Chrome's local extension storage:
Netflix subtitle text is held in memory during use. Video quality fallback settings are stored in the Netflix tab's session storage.
Couplet fetches Netflix subtitles from addresses provided by the Netflix page. These requests go to the subtitle delivery servers and are subject to the receiving service's data practices.
Subtitle files you open from your device are not uploaded.
Couplet does not send user data to developer-operated servers. The developer does not receive your settings, title records, or subtitle files through the extension.
Couplet uses no analytics or advertising tools. It does not sell user data or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to its stated features.
General settings remain until changed or removed. Title-specific records are limited to 30 entries. Older entries are removed as new entries are saved.
Selecting “Off” for a subtitle position does not immediately delete all previously stored subtitle data. “Reset All Settings to Defaults” resets general settings but does not delete saved title records or imported subtitle contents.
To delete Couplet's local extension data, uninstall Couplet from Chrome. Close open Netflix tabs to end active sessions and remove session-only settings.
This policy will be updated when Couplet's data practices change.
